WASHINGTON health insurance ; Governor Chris Gregoire is expected to sign legislation requiring various state agencies to develop and coordinate a streamlined process of health care administration. The efforts include the development of a uniform electronic process for collecting and transmitting provider data to support credentialing, admitting privileges and other processes. The legislation is designed to reduce administrative burden on providers, improve quality and timeliness of information, and be interoperable with other relevant systems. Aetna will be involved in these working groups. Also, the Governor recently signed legislation that requires the state's Health Care Authority to convene a work group to analyze and identify evidence-based best practice guidelines related to diagnostic imaging services. Aetna's regional medical director, Drew Oliveira, was appointed to the working group.
