CALIFORNIA Health Insurance
CALIFORNIA Health Insurance : A new study by the Department of Development Services shows that the number of people with autism receiving services at state-funded regional centers has increased nearly 1,200 percent over the past decade. The increasing number of autism cases will have significant implications for California, particularly because the number of adults with autism who receive services at regional centers is projected to continue increasing. Due to growing budget problems, the state is slated to cut $100 million from the regional centers' budget in 2010. As a result, policymakers, regulators and consumers are likely to continue their push to make sure that private health insurers are covering these services and providing resources to parents with autistic children.
